CLASS CAPTAINS​

What is a Class Captain?

The role of the Class Captain is to assist your teacher with the tasks they need help with. Each teacher is different and needs help with different things. Many of our teachers work closely with the other teachers in their grade so you will likely be working closely with the other Class Captains in your grade.

Some common tasks teachers rely on Class Captains for are:
 

  • Class / Grade level parties and events

  • Organizing volunteers sign ups for Field Trips

  • Getting information out via ParentSquare

  • Helping FFO celebrate our teachers (birthdays,  holidays, teacher appreciation)

  • Communicating ongoing events (Book Fair. volunteering, etc)

How are Class Captain chosen?

Class Captains will be chosen at random from the sign up list for each class and then confirmed as the best match based on availability and the amount of time needed by that specific teacher. Signing up first doesn’t mean you automatically get the role. Our goal is maintain a fair opportunity for anyone who is interested in participating and making sure this program is a success by partnering the right Class Captain with the right teacher.
